Replacing a Celtic cross hit by lightening (1 & 3); rebuilding wood
outlooks in deteriorated masonry for inlaid copper gutter and
cornice (2); taken up in a ladder fire truck to seal a wind vane
above a bell shaped copper cupola (4); and attending a lightening
rod school (5).
Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island
No, we did not work on the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, but
Earl was invited by the National Park Service's architect on the
project and
the Copper Development Association as a guest engineer examining
the work in progress. Being invited was an honor and we have
done presentations on the work done by others to the AIA, etc. Surprisingly,
most of the work done was not copper work.
