BACKGROUND  -  For over 33 years, Gough & Bros. has worked with building owners & architects solving upper elevation problems to assure the greatest longevity.  We use traditional materials, which have withstood the test-of-time, and provide Old World Craftsmanship for roofing, flashing and gutter systems.

SNOW RETENTION  -  Having installed snow guards for 33 years, we purchased Frank Cody's Snow Guard shop, continue making his original snow guards (stock & custom) as the Gough SnoGuard^TM and offer a one-stop-shop for snow retention.  (For Life Safety and Preventative Maintenance)  This is the original snow guard in the country made of sheet metal going back to 1930.  (We also distribute the S-5! ColorGard snow rail system for standing seam metal roofs.  Snow guards, snow fences & snow rails help keep snow from avalanching from roofs, therefore protecting people and things below.)  Click on "Snow Retention" to the left. 

 

3. CONSULTING for Slate, Tile & Copper  Roofs and Snow Retention  -  We can help you with:

• (1) an Inspection on slate, tile and copper roofing

• (2) directing a project assuring specifications are met by others

• (3) helping establishing specifications

• (4) Earl has also served as a professional witness for TASA

• (5) lectured the American Institute of Architects (AIA)

• (6) lectured the Roofing Consultant Institute (RCI)

• (7) Has acted as an Arbitrator between Building Owners and Roofers.

• (8) Has assisted architects in assessing projects and details on historic buildings, etc.

• (9) Has taught apprenticeship classes for the Federal Bureau of Apprenticeship Training

• (10) Teaches on Snow Retention & installation of Snow Guards for Union Apprentices and continuing education

• (11) Lectured engineering students on thermal movement of building materials

Consulting Fees:

• Expert Witness rate for consulting, depositions, testimony - $225 / hr plus expenses

• Job Site Visit "port-to-port" rate - $ 135 / hr plus expenses

• Office Consulting including "Conditions Report" rate - $125 / hr plus expenses

• Lost Time rate on work days from 7:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. for travel, waiting for meetings or other lost time on behalf of the client. - $65 / hr plus expenses
